On the day of René’s passing, the singer’s rep announced the sad news with the following statement: “Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer,” the rep said in a statement. “The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment.”

And now his grieving widow is taking time to mourn. According to Caesar's Palace Hotel and Casino, the singer decided to put her Las Vegas tour on hold. "With heavy hearts, we regret to inform you that Celine performances Saturday, Jan. 16 and Sunday, Jan. 17 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been cancelled,” the hotel's statement read.
