The 27-year-old singer's father, Mark Evans, walked out on her family when she was a child, but then, when Adele became famous, he spoke out in the press in 2011 about their lack of a relationship.

But according to Mark, father and daughter are, miraculously, well on their way to fixing their troubled relationship.

"Adele and I are fine; it was just a misunderstanding," Mark insisted. "We've patched things up, everything's fine."

writing her new album, 25, she learned that her father may have bowel cancer. Although the nine tumors that he had were eventually discovered to be benign, the ordeal moved Adele, who decided to put their past behind them.

"Mark was desperate to see her again," an insider told Star. "At first Adele couldn't bring herself to reply, but she was torn up inside."
