Pete Davidson and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt are over the moon about her pregnancy and an insider exclusively tells Star there is “no doubt they’ll be great parents together.”
“Pete’s been wanting to have a kid for a long while now, and now his dream is coming true. He and Elsie are a perfect pair. They get along so well,” the source says, revealing that Davidson, 31, told “a few people in his inner circle and his mom” before she shared it with the world.
“They see him light up talking about his child on the way and what he’s planning after he or she arrives. Pete doesn’t have a preference, boy or girl is fine,” the insider adds. “He can’t wait to be a dad.”
As Star previously reported, Davidson was only 7 years old when his late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, died in the line of duty during the Sept. 11 attacks. He sacrificed his life amidst rescue operations at the World Trade Center.
“[Pete has] had some struggles, this is true,” the insider explains, “but Elsie has been a grounding influence on him, and this news has been a ray of hope for Pete and for his loved ones who worried about him. He’s going to have a family.”

“It’s time to be the responsible one and he’s up for the challenge,” the source notes.
Hewitt, 29, revealed that she is expecting via Instagram on Wednesday, July 16, sharing a carousel of photos including one of the pair snuggling while Hewitt cradled her growing baby bump, a sonogram of their bundle of joy, and a beaming video from their ultrasound appointment.
She also shared a SpongeBob SquarePants meme that read, “One of y’all hiding your pregnancy, I can feel it.”
“Welp, now everyone knows we had sex,” she playfully captioned her post.
Davidson’s relationship with the United Kingdom-born model was confirmed in March, weeks before the couple made their red carpet debut in May at the 13th Annual Blossom Ball in New York City and attended the Knicks game that same month.
The King of Staten Island star notably gushed that it would be his lifelong “dream” to become a father in a 2022 interview. “My favorite thing ever, which I’m yet to achieve, is I wanna have a kid,” Davidson shared with Kevin Hart at the time.
“I’m so excited for that chapter so that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now, is trying to be like good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens it’s just easier,” he added.
