Paris Jackson is taking the breakup with her fiancé Justin Long pretty hard, a source tells Star.
Following photos published by the Daily Mail last week — which showed Jackson crying as she took a walk around Malibu — the 27-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson took to X on Thursday, July 31, to reveal her engagement to the music producer was over.
“Those are breakup tears. y’all are fkn reaching again,” the musician wrote on the platform.
Now, a source tells Star, “Paris is brokenhearted that things didn’t work out,” noting “she cried a lot after it happened.”

The source says that after the couple got engaged in Paris, France, last December, “it was pure bliss” between them until “reality set in.”
“They realized they’re two very different people. It just wasn’t working between them,” explains the source. “Paris didn’t think Justin was doing enough for her, and that led to arguments. She needs a guy to adapt to her ways and fulfill her emotional needs.”
As to how the American Horror Stories actress has been coping, the source shares that she has “been trying to keep it together by meditating and praying and just focusing on self-care and talking to friends.”
“She’s focusing on her music and writing, and her sobriety. It’s the one thing about being sober that she embraces now,” the source notes. “She’s feeling everything, the good, the bad and the sad. But she has her spiritual tools to help her stay strong.”

Jackson and the sound engineer had been dating since 2022 and announced their engagement in December 2024.
“Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind and I couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with,” she wrote via Instagram in a post that has since been deleted. “Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you.”
In June, Jackson gave an update on how wedding planning was going in an interview with Access Hollywood.
“The dress is being made, the venue has been picked, the date has been picked by an astrologer because I’m from L.A. All about the crystals and the astrologer and all that stuff,” she told the outlet.
Jackson also spoke to Entertainment Tonight in March, and opened up about how she was feeling about getting married.
“It’s terrifying, it’s a big leap, you know, it’s exciting, and it’s thrilling, and it’s a big step, and I know that I’m making the right choice, which is a good feeling,” she remarked.
