The first season of The Golden Bachelor may have been a romance fail but it was a ratings bonanza, so a new senior, NFL player-turned-lawyer, Mel Owens, has been drafted for season 2. But the 66-year-old stirred controversy before the first golden bachelorette ever stepped out of her limo, saying on the In the Trenches podcast he’d only consider ladies between the ages of 45 and 60, and wanted to stay away from “the artificial hips and the wigs.”

Owens apologized but says the contestants still “roasted” him during filming for his insensitive remarks. Start popping the popcorn, Bachelor Nation, this is going to be a five-bucket season! (Also streams on Hulu.)
