Earlier this month, Prince Harry arrived at Clarence House in the back of a Land Rover. He was there to see his father, King Charles III, for the first time in 19 months. Now, over two weeks after their September 10 meeting—which lasted just 53 minutes—The Sunhas revealed new details about what went down inside the room.
The outlet reported that the father and son (whose relationship has been severely strained since Harry, 41, and his wife, Meghan Markle, 44, left the UK in 2020 and subsequently criticized the royal family in the media) “greeted each other warmly with kisses on the cheek” and exchanged gifts. Harry presented Charles, 76, with a framed photograph of the his and Meghan’s two children, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 3, while the monarch presented Harry with a birthday gift.

And while The Sun went on to report that the meeting felt “distinctly formal,” and that Harry joked about feeling like an “official visitor” at his father’s home, the Prince hit back at that characterization, issuing a rare statement of denial. “Recent reporting of The Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false,” a spokesperson for Harry told People. “The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son. Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged.”
Prior to this meeting, the last time Harry and Charles were face to face was in February 2024, right after it was revealed that the King has cancer.
