Netflix is getting in on the Scandinavian crime drama craze with this series. It’s based on a true story about women in 1950s Sweden who were recruited to be police officers due to a shortage of male cops.

Belittled by their colleagues and the media, they receive their first assignment to patrol Stockholm’s most crime-ridden district. But they channel their inner girl power to crack down on crooks and clean up the streets. Gotta love a police drama supercharged with female empowerment.

The New Force | Premieres Friday, Oct 3, on Netflix
