Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross Quietly Split After 9 Years Together
Mel Gibson and longtime partner Rosalind Ross have called it quits on their 9-year relationship.
“Although it’s sad to end this chapter in our lives, we are blessed with a beautiful son and will continue to be the best parents possible,” Gibson and Ross told People in a joint statement on Tuesday, December 29.
The former couple reportedly split a year ago and have been coparenting their 8-year-old son, Lars.
Gibson, 69, and Ross, 35, first got together in 2014 after being introduced by mutual friends. They welcomed their son three years later.
In addition to Lars, Gibson is the father to eight other children: daughter Hannah and sons Christian, Edward, William, Louis, Milo and Thomas, with ex-wife Robyn Moore, and teenage daughter Lucia with ex Oksana Grigorieva.
“Regarding age and relationships, it’s just a number. She is an adult, and we dig each other,” Gibson told The Mirror of his relationship with Ross in 2016. “It might cause a problem and one has a trepidation about these things, but it’s working out great. She is a really special person. I dig her. So there you go. That’s it. What more can one ask?”
