The Civil War is raging and unlikely heroines — a socialite (Daisy Head), her mother (Mary-Louise Parker) and a former slave (Amethyst Davis) — work together to transform the Underground Railroad into a spy network to relay messages to the (enemy) Union Army.

Because they live in Richmond, Virginia, the capital of the Confederacy, they’re at constant risk of being discovered and executed for treason. Based on a true story, this miniseries about the price that was paid to save the country is both a great history lesson and a nail-biting drama.
