Lily Allen Turns NYC Into ‘West End Girl Fall,’ Throws Subtle Shade Referencing New Album
Lily Allen is bringing her signature London attitude to Manhattan.
The 40-year-old singer-songwriter shared a series of photos enjoying her time in New York City on Thursday, October, 30 captioning her Instagram post, “Where better to kick off West End Girl Fall? It’s NY or Nowhere.”
Allen’s outfits move easily from playful to polished, starting with an oversized brown leather jacket and shifting to a mini bubble skirted dress with white polka dots and an asymmetrical black top.
She also posed in a more casual look at Grand Central in graphic sweatpants and T-shirt. The mix of styles mirrors the sharp wit and individuality that define her new album West End Girl.
Among the photos is a clip of Allen playfully skipping into the luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman and buying a handbag, a subtle nod to “4chan Stan,” a track where she finds out her husband bought a handbag for another woman after spotting the receipt.
The reference wasn’t lost on followers with comments like, “Omg the bergdorf Goodman bags 💀” and “Well, she’s been to Bergdorfs now!”
