Kristen Stewart isn’t done with Twilight — she’d just rather call the shots this time.
The actress, who rose to global fame as Bella Swan in the vampire franchise, revealed she’d be more than willing to step behind the camera to direct a remake of the 2008 hit under the right circumstances.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in an interview published on Monday, January 5, Stewart — who was in the midst of being honored as one of the “10 Directors to Watch” for her film The Chronology of Water at the the Palm Springs International Film Festival Creative Impact Awards — made it clear the idea that if presented with the opportunity to direct a new Twilight flick, she’d totally sink her teeth into it.

“I would love to readapt [the franchise],” the 35-year-old confided, before adding: “Yeah, sure. I’ll do the remake. I’m doing it. I’m committed.”
While Stewart emphasized she has deep respect for the original films and their directors, she suggested a reimagining could work if it came with the right creative backing and support.

Rather than rewriting history, the Oscar nominee hinted she’d aim to honor what made Twilight a phenomenon while bringing a fresh perspective shaped by her evolution as a filmmaker.
“I love what all of the directors did with the movies,” said Stewart. “But they were so themselves and weird and kind of squirrelly and just so present in that time when they didn’t really know what they were yet before they blew up.”
