Kris Jenner Pushes Harder Than Ever to Keep The Kardashians on Air: ‘It’s a Giant Promotional Vehicle’
Get ready for more Kardashians! The sixth season of the Hulu reality show is on its way (see review, p. 43), and with it, questions about whether the family — which has had cameras following it since 2007 — is finally over it.
Now, sources tell Star that momager Kris Jenner, 69, is desperate to keep the show airing for as long as possible, despite her daughters’ many other very successful businesses (Kim’s Skims, Kourtney’s Poosh, Kylie’s cosmetics line, to name a few). “It’s basically a giant promotional vehicle for them,” explains an insider. “The show is what props up their other ventures.”
For that to work, they’ve got to have viewers tune in, making this season make-or-break for the family. “Kris is constantly telling her kids they need to keep their feet on the gas pedal” to keep themselves relevant, adds the source. “She’s pushing harder than ever to give the cameras full access to their messy lives.” For their part, the girls will go along to get along, says the insider. “They do it because they’re loyal to their mom.”
