John Krasinski Admits He Tried to Sabotage His First Date With Emily Blunt
Feeling completely out of his league, the Office alum John Krasinski, 45, admitted he self-sabotaged when planning his first date with his now-wife Emily Blunt, 42. Dinner? A picnic? A movie? Nope.
He took her to a shooting range. “I think that I was so sure that I would never end up with her because she’d be like, ‘This is ridiculous. I can have anyone. Not you.’ I was like, ‘You know what? I’m going to blow it right away, and then that way you don’t feel bad.’”
They began dating in 2008 and were engaged just over a year later, tying the knot in a romantic ceremony at George Clooney’s Lake Como estate in 2010.
Since then, they’ve built one of Hollywood’s most beloved low-key power couples, keeping their family life with daughters Hazel and Violet largely out of the spotlight.
John and Emily have made a point of supporting each other’s careers, with Blunt praising his directorial turn in A Quiet Place, which they co-starred in and which went on to become a box office smash.
