Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson Spotted Jetting Off to Vegas Together—Could the Exes be Reconciling?

What’s happening in Vegas between Jessica Simpson and her estranged husband, Eric Johnson? The pop star and former NFL tight end, who announced their separation earlier this year after a decade of marriage, were seen boarding a flight from Burbank, California to Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, August 29, reports TMZ.

In a video obtained by the outlet, the pair make their way through the baggage claim area at the airport in Las Vegas. When asked, “It’s amazing to see you guys back together—is it official?” by the person behind the camera, Johnson merely smiles. Simpson stays similarly tight-lipped, but begins to open up when asked if they are in town to see Ashlee Simpson Ross, who kicked off a residency at The Venetian Resort on Friday night.

“Yes, absolutely,” says Simpson. “We’re here to see Ashlee.” She goes on to say that she is proud of her younger sister, who sold out the first two nights of the residency and went on to add five more dates in September. Asked about the “Pieces of Me” crooner’s potential song choices for the show, Simpson says, “It’s all gonna be a surprise for me.”

Simpson and Johnson, both 45, share three children—Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, 6—though it seems they left the kids at home for their Vegas jaunt.

The Open Book author confirmed their split to People in January, with a statement saying: “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
