Inside Prince William and Princess Kate’s Big Move to Their ‘Forever Home’ at Forest Lodge

Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton are relocating from Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor royal estate to a new home in Windsor Great Park in the coming months.

The couple — along with their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — will be moving into the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge, although no specific date has been revealed just yet.

“The Wales family will move house later this year,” a palace spokesperson told CNN on Sunday, August 17.

Multiple reports, including CNN and BBC, have stated that their new home will be William and Kate’s “forever home,” and the eldest son of King Charles III will live there even after he becomes king. Before their move, the royal pair, both 43, opted to have some renovations done to the Georgian-style home that they paid for themselves.

While the couple has previously been open about their love for Adelaide Cottage — which they moved to in 2022 — they’ve also endured some tough moments there, including Kate’s cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment.

“Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter,” the source explained to BBC in an article published on August 16. “It’s an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind.”
