Margot Robbie has done a terrific job promoting her and Jacob Elordi’s adaptation of the classic romance novel, Wuthering Heights.
Too good a job, perhaps.
Ahead of the film’s premiere, the 35-year-old actress, who is married to producer Tom Ackerley, gifted her costar, 28, a custom matching signet ring inscribed with a quote from the Emily Brontë novel: “Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”
She also couldn’t help but gush about what a “gentleman” Elordi was during filming, shielding her face from the rain in an unscripted moment mid-scene. “We were just like, ‘That was one of the most romantic things I’ve ever experienced and seen,’” Robbie told Access Hollywood.
“The way Margot has been carrying on with Jacob has everyone wondering what the heck is going on with her and Tom,” a source tells Star. “The poor guy has to just stand back and watch her all over the hottest guy in the industry right now. It’s got to be humiliating for him.”

Ackerley, 35, doesn’t seem all that worried, though.
“Tom insists he’s fine with it all, that it’s just business and there’s nothing to worry about with Jacob,” says the source. “But his friends aren’t really buying it. They’re convinced Tom’s in denial and warning him that Jacob could be a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
It’s put Ackerley in a “very awkward spot,” Star’s source adds, as he’s not only Robbie’s husband but also her producing partner.
“From a business perspective, this is actually a good thing,” the source explains. “The more attention they get, the better it is for the movie and ticket sales.”
“But at the same time … his friends worry he’s stuffing his real feelings down and ignoring a real threat to his marriage,” notes the source. “They think this is a toxic situation, whether Tom will admit it or not.”
