Former ‘SNL’ Cast Member Cecily Strong Welcomes Baby Girl After IVF Journey
On April 2, Cecily Strong gave birth to a daughter via IVF with her fiancé, talent agent John MacGregor. “She wanted to be a mom for the longest time,” a source says of the SNL vet.
It was a difficult journey: When Cecily announced her hard- won pregnancy in November, the 41-year-old recalled feeling “frustrated and anxious” in doctors’ waiting rooms, and being “dumbstruck happy” on the day of her embryo transfer.
Since welcoming her daughter, Cecily revealed that she feels like she “won the lottery,” she wrote in an announcement. “It was such a relatively easy birth with such a glorious epidural,” she added. “I’m so in love and so tired.”
The Schmigadoon! star also shouted out her fiancé, who she calls Jack, as the “best dad,” a “pro” at swaddling, diapering and helping with breastfeeding. Says the source, “Every day is a happy day. Cecily’s so glad she got to experience this with Jack.”
