Five Menopausal Ladies Form a Punk Band in ‘Riot Women’
Five menopausal women in a small English town decide to form a punk band. What starts out as a way to kill some time soon becomes a vehicle that helps them navigate a variety of midlife crises, including selfish partners and problematic family members — while also exposing long-buried secrets. They find their music allows them to channel a lot of pent-up rage at the way society treats middle-aged women.
As one puts it, “And you thought The Clash were angry.” Cathartic and hilariously funny — think The Full Monty for woman of a certain age — these cheeky ladies are worth a BritBox subscription.
