The stories about the dangers of child stardom are sobering. Now Finn Wolfhard, who shot to fame at age 13 on Netflix’s Stranger Things, has opened up about his experiences. At 22, he’s astonished that he survived the frenzy surrounding the sci-fi hit — and wishes he’d been better prepared to deal with it. “I don’t think I’d ever go back and do something over,” he told a reporter. “But maybe I would go back to when the show first came out and blew up, and I would directly put myself into therapy.”

The actor, who plays Mike Wheeler in the series, previously revealed that he suffered panic attacks at age 15, but felt he needed to hide his anxiety. “Everyone was like, ‘Look at him, he’s fine. He’s having the best time,’” Finn recalled. Still, he notes, he can’t change the past. “I would end up making a mistake in a different way anyways!”
