Fans of 1883 will love this prequel series to Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart. It’s the story of Rebecca (Bethany Joy Lenz), who heads for the Canadian frontier with her 11-year-old-daughter.
When her wagon breaks down on the way, a hunky rancher, Tom (Benjamin Ayres), comes to her rescue. Although she spurns his advances — at first — she ends up making his fledgling town her home despite the many hardships, motivated to stay in part by tenacious pioneer Hattie (Jill Hennessy). Hope Valley is not only a love story but an inspiring tale of perseverance.
