Elle Fanning had a “magical night” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City “celebrating the one and only” Sofia Coppola, the actress wrote on  Instagram on Thursday, November 13.

The Great alum, 27, posed with the honoree, who directed Fanning in 2010’s Somewhere and 2017’s The Beguiled. “WWSD (what would Sofia do?) a motto we should all live by,” she wrote in the caption.

Coppola, 54, donned a black sparkly top, while Fanning shimmered in an ivory mini dress covered in sequins with subtle long sleeves and a high neckline.

Her hair was styled in loose waves swept to the side, paired with soft makeup and minimal jewelry, allowing the dress to take center stage.

The above photo captured her in full party mode, posed with her hands up and her sequined sleeves draped glamorously.

The comments poured in with heart-eyes and love: “😍😍😍” and “❤️❤️❤️” flooded her feed. One fan summed it up best: “An angel in sequins!” 👼✨
