It’s been more than a decade since Ed Sheeran’s collaboration with Taylor Swift, “Everything Has Changed,” was released — but he has now revealed that the two artists are as close as ever.

And the old friends have a unique way of staying in touch. Mainly: They don’t text each other regularly, saving themselves for marathon meet-ups.

“I probably see her, like, four times a year,” Sheeran said on the April 8 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. “Instead of catching up the whole time, we have proper sit-down, six-hour catch-ups. And I think that’s a really nice way to do it.”

The host of the popular podcast — it has 1.21 million subscribers on YouTube — Alex Cooper, 30, told Sheeran, 34, that she’s a “big Swiftie” and asked him for a favorite memory of the Tortured Poets Department artist.

Sheeran then confessed to feeling a bit sentimental, having somewhat recently gone through all of his devices to collect evidence for a copyright infringement lawsuit he successfully defended — “to give them voice notes for the lawyers to have, and [I went through] all my old texts with people that I’ve known for that long,” he said. “It was really nostalgic.”

For Sheeran’s favorite memory with Swift, 35, the “Thinking Out Loud” singer/songwriter recalled the year 2013, when he opened for the pop icon’s Red Tour. “I lived in Nashville, and she lived in Nashville, and we used to fly to and from the gigs together,” he said. “I literally spent almost every single day with her for about six months, so I think that period of time.”

Sheeran also gushed about his wife — the couple have credited one of Swift’s epic Fourth of July parties as their first date — on the podcast, after Cooper asked him which of his love songs is her favorite. “It’s actually track 13, the last track on this new record,” he said of the album expected to drop sometime in 2025. “It was meant to be a 12-track album and there was this song that from the beginning of writing it she was obsessed with. She kept being like, ‘Is it on the album, is it on the album?’ And…in the end I just gifted it to her. I just went, ‘I’m just going to put this on just for you.’”

Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, 32, had known each other as kids but reunited as friends in 2015 — and it took one of Swift’s legendary summer bashes for them to start dating again.

Sheeran told People in 2017 that he was at Swift’s 2015 Fourth of July party when it all went down. “I was texting [Seaborn], and she was like, ‘I’m in Rhode Island at a 4th of July party,’ and I was like, ‘So am I.’ I kinda said to Taylor, ‘Can I invite one of my old schoolmates?’ The rest is history.”

The couple married in 2019 and welcomed daughters Lyra in 2020 and Jupiter in 2022.
