The 33-year-old singer, who was scheduled to kick off her upcoming It’s Not That Deep Tour on April 8 in North Carolina, announced that she will be hitting the road a little later than anticipated.
“My Lovatics — I am so excited to get back on stage this year and visit you in as many cities as I can,” she began a candid Instagram Story post explaining the change of plans on Tuesday, February 10.
“While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible,” she continued. “To protect my health, and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour.”
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer apologized to fans who planned to see her in Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Denver — where she will no longer stop.

“I am so sad to say that I will no longer be able to see you on this tour and I am so sorry to those who planned to be there,” she said.
Lovato said she will now kick things off April 13 in Orlando, Florida, where she was originally scheduled to play on April 10.
She explained that refunds will be “issued automatically” for those who purchased admission through Ticketmaster or AXS; fans who used third-party resellers to purchase seats must contact their point of purchase.
“I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me!” she concluded. “Thank you for your support always. I love you and I cannot wait to see you soon.”
Lovato announced the It’s Not That Deep Tour in October, writing on Instagram, “I can’t wait to get back on the road with you and dance to these songs together night after night.”
While the singer did not get into specifics regarding her health, Lovato has been open about her physical and mental well-being throughout the years.
On June 21, 2018, she released the single “Sober,” detailing a relapse in her sobriety. Weeks later, she suffered a near-fatal overdose, which she eventually opened up about in her four-part YouTube documentary Dancing with the Devil.
