Dave Coulier Says He’s Cancer-Free Again After Beating Two Diagnoses in Two Years

Dave Coulier is sharing hopeful news after a grueling health battle: The Full House alum says he’s officially in remission following two separate cancer diagnoses in just two years.

Speaking on Good Morning America on Wednesday, February 4, Coulier, 66, revealed that his tongue cancer is now in remission, nearly a year after he was declared cancer-free from stage III non-Hodgkin lymphoma. “I’m in remission with both cancers,” he said. “What a journey this has been.”

As Star has reported, back in December, doctors discovered the second cancer during a routine follow-up scan, identifying a form of squamous cell carcinoma in his tongue. Coulier later admitted he was initially stunned by the diagnosis and relieved it was caught early.

Treatment was no small feat. The comedian underwent robotic surgery followed by 35 rounds of targeted radiation. Despite the physical and emotional toll, Coulier said he leaned on humor and loved ones to get through it.

“Radiation can steal parts of your life away from you,” he told GMA’s Robin Roberts, herself a breast cancer survivor, during the heart-to-heart. “I wasn’t going to allow cancer to do that.”

That support system included his wife, Melissa Bring, and longtime friend and former costar John Stamos, who visited and kept spirits high.

Now cancer-free, Coulier hopes his experience encourages others to stay on top of regular checkups. “Early detection really means everything,” he said.
