Chrissy Metz Takes on a Catastrophic Wildfire in Lifetime’s ‘Faith in the Flames’
Not all angels have wings — some wear scrubs! In this based-on-a-true-story flick, Jolly (Chrissy Metz) is a heroic nurse who risks her life to save patients in California’s deadly 2018 Camp Fire, which killed 89 people and wiped out the town of Paradise.
As flames threaten to engulf her town, Jolly and her colleagues brave smoke and fire to evacuate 67 patients from their hospital in under an hour, then continue to care for them in a makeshift triage area — even as she worries that her husband and kids haven’t escaped the conflagration. The heart-wrenching film is a horrifying look at the terror experienced by residents when a wildfire threatens their community.
