Chrishell Stause stunned fans by abruptly announcing she was walking away from Selling Sunset, and a source tells Star that the on-set pettiness and bullying got so bad it made her run for the hills and not look back.
“She says she’s done,” the source says. “She just can’t take the ugliness of it all, and frankly doesn’t have room for the negativity in her life.”
The source adds that the drama is “so counterproductive” for the 44-year-old Kentucky native and she has a “beautiful life” without it.
“She’s madly in love, with plenty of money in the bank and loads of opportunities,” the source continues. “Her partner [G Flip] is getting more successful by the day. Things are very bright, and there’s just no reason to have this sort of darkness be a part of her world.”
The source adds that the reality star is “grateful” for everything that Selling Sunset “bought her” for but she “simply can’t handle the emotional havoc.”

“Her partner is tired of it as well, so no doubt that’s a factor in her decision,” the source explains. “She seems to have her mind made up and by all accounts is very sincere, but of course some more cynical people on the show and within her social circle are accusing her of just playing hard to get so she can negotiate a better deal.”
The latest season of Selling Sunset — which premiered on Netflix on October 29 — featured Stause having a heated confrontation with costar Nicole Young. After Stause made a remark alleging Young, 40, had done drugs, Young clapped back, “Honey, you’re confusing me with your parents.”
Young’s comment was enough to get her booted from The Oppenheim Group after owners Jason and Brett Oppenheim decided it crossed a line she couldn’t come back from.
In the series’ reunion episode, it appeared Stause and former BFF Emma Hernan were also seemingly on the outs.
