Chris Martin Is Still ‘Hung Up’ on Dakota Johnson Despite Seemingly Dating Other Women (Exclusive)

Chris Martin has seemingly moved on from his split from Dakota Johnson as he’s been spotted with actress Sophie Turner, but a source exclusively tells Star the Coldplay frontman is on the rebound.

“Chris did not want things to end with Dakota, he’s tried several times to lure her back but she’s determined to break the yo-yo cycle that had gotten pretty toxic by the end,” the source says. “It’s true Chris was on the fence about marriage and kept dangling that carrot and never following through, so that was another huge factor that drove her out the door.”

“They were also bickering a lot and he had control issues, she felt very crowded and needed to get away from him and re-establish her independence,” the source continued.

According to the source, Martin has been seeing multiple women, including the Game of Thrones actress, as he tries to move on from the relationship.

Martin, 48, and Johnson, 36, were first linked back in 2017. The ultra-private couple got engaged sometime before 2024, but they ultimately called it quits in June.

“There’s a real sadness when he speaks about Dakota because he has a lot of regret,” the source tells Star. “For years he referred to her as the love of his life and they went though so much together, never thought he’d be in this position in his late 40s. He’s making the best of it and enjoying these dates with Sophie, but it’s painfully obvious he’s still hung up on Dakota.”
