Cher Shifts Focus from Love to Family and Advocacy Amid Uncertainty With Beau A.E.
She believes in life after love. A source says Cher has become less enamored of her much-younger boyfriend, Alex “A.E.” Edwards, and might be taking friends’ advice to move on from the two-and-a-half year romance.
“It’s beginning to dawn on her that A.E.’s not a good fit,” the source tells Star. “Word is, he wasn’t even there on her birthday May 20.”
As the romance wanes, the 79-year-old has focused her attention elsewhere, from a fight to save zoo-bound elephants to fretting over her son Elijah Allman’s substance abuse struggles.
“Cher’s been less reliant on A.E.,” says the source, who adds that the Grammy winner is “still friendly” with the music exec, 39. “Now she’s debating whether it would be better to let him go. Knowing A.E., he’ll make a last stand to woo her back. But the ball’s in Cher’s court.”
