The Golden Globes may have delivered meme-worthy hilarity and A-list star power, but audiences still weren’t buying it.
According to Nielsen data cited by Deadline, the 83rd Golden Globe Awards drew 8.66 million viewers on CBS, marking a 7 percent decline from last year’s 9.27 million live and same-day viewers.
For context, back in 2020, the Globes averaged 18.3 million viewers, per the outlet.

Glaser’s monologue — which roasted everyone from President Donald Trump to CBS News — lit up social media, and Teyana Taylor’s tearful Best Supporting Actress win sparked some of the night’s biggest reactions.
Still, the show lacked one major ratings booster: an NFL lead-in. Last year’s Globes benefited from football viewers rolling directly into the broadcast, but this year’s early Bills–Jaguars matchup gave fans plenty of time to switch the channel.
