Brooke Hogan was distant from her father, Hulk Hogan, in the years leading up to his death, and according to sources, she chose to have herself removed from his will in 2023.
The former Hogan Knows Best star, 37, reportedly didn’t think highly of the people that the six-time WWE Champion had around him at the time and “didn’t want to get caught up in a financial battle” after his passing, TMZ reported.
The mother of two – who shares twins Oliver Andrew and Molly Gene, 6 months, with husband Steven Oleksy – wanted to shield her dad from the people that she felt didn’t have his best interests at heart, but this led to disagreements between them and she ultimately asked to be taken off of his will, per the outlet.
Despite the ups and downs of their relationship, Brooke assured fans that they shared a “connection deeper than words” in a heartfelt tribute posted to Instagram on Tuesday, July 29.
“I will remember watching him build my Barbie dream houses, our jet ski rides, laughing ’til we cried when no one else got the joke,” she wrote. “His hugs were my home. Wrapping my arms around his big frame always made me feel like his little girl.”

Opening up about the events that led up to their estrangement, Brooke said they never had a “big fight,” but something suddenly “shifted” in their relationship and she felt there was a “forcefield” between her and her father that she couldn’t break through.
Their continued disagreements eventually took an “emotional toll” on her and she felt that she had to “step away” from their relationship.
“I know in my heart I did everything I could,” she continued at the time. “He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did.”
In a follow-up post shared to social media that same day, she called him her “everything.”
“Our bond is eternal. That truth brings me comfort and hope, even in your absence,” she captioned a slideshow of throwback photos. “I love you more than all the stars in the sky.”
Hulk died at 71. Medical personnel were called to his Florida home on July 24 after he suffered a cardiac arrest, according to TMZ. He was seen being taken out of the house on a stretcher and put into an emergency vehicle. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
