Cocaine Bear was fictional … or was it? Animals really are finding human stashes and going on drug and alcohol binges. In this three-part series, wildlife biologist Forrest Galante explains how critters get hooked — like bears who are IRL invading homes to feed their booze and edible cravings.

Then there are the alligators in Florida who started getting hopped up on meth while swimming in drug-infested waters. Finally we meet narco kingpin Pablo Escobar’s infamous cocaine-addicted hippos. You’ll be hooked on this sad but fascinating series.

Animals On Drugs | Premieres Monday, July 28, at 8 p.m. ET, on Discovery
