Barbra Streisand’s Reclusive Life Clashes with James Brolin’s Career Comeback

Barbra Streisand and husband James Brolin had a second chance at love during the COVID pandemic.

“Just being stuck together every day and making it work,” James, 84, revealed in 2021. But lately, their paths have diverged, with Barbara, 82, “becoming increasingly antisocial,” says a source, while James “is more outgoing.” The pair, who met on blind date in 1996 and have been wed for 26 years, are facing a schism.

Barbra has kept to a reclusive life post-pandemic-she reportedly wrote most of her 970-page memoir, My Name Is Barbra, in bed- and James is ramping up his career, recently landing a role on the Netflix series Ransom Canyon. “She needed total privacy when she was writing her book,” the source says of self-described “control freak” Barbra.

“But now that he’s got projects that are taking him away, she’s panicking. She insists she trusts him, but she’s notoriously wary about what happens when she’s not around.”
