Kourtney Kardashian is embracing life as a mom of seven kids.

The 46-year-old reality TV personality shared insight into her combined families dynamic with husband Travis Barker during an episode of sister Khloé Kardashian’s Khloé In Wonderland podcast on Wednesday, May 21.

The Kardashians star and 49-year-old Blink-182 drummer wed in 2022 and are parents to seven children, including their son Rocky, who is 18 months old. Kourtney shares three kids with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick: Mason, 15, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 10 — meanwhile, the musician shares Landon, 21, and Alabama, 19, with ex-wife Shanna Moakler. Additionally, Travis is a dad to Atiana, 26 — Landon and Alabama’s half-sister.

The Lemme founder explained that she tries to be a source of advice for her stepchildren without being the primary disciplinarian.

“I love my role as stepmom because I don’t feel like it’s up to me to discipline. We’ll talk about it, and then he can handle the harder things,” Kourtney reflected.

“I definitely give advice or try to be a good, I guess, role model… We have lots of good conversations, and we laugh,” she told her sister. “I feel like it’s in the best way I can be there to be supportive or really in any way that they want me to be for as much or as little as they want.”

Before the A-list couple began their romantic relationship, they had been good friends for years and knew each other’s kids, which made Kourtney think it would be an easy transition when they blended families.

“I used to think too, going into it, ‘Oh, we have such a good foundation that it would just be seamless,'” she stated. “But some days, I’ve thought, ‘Wow, this is really hard blending families.'”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum also noted how moving houses was a major transition for Mason, Penelope, and Reign.

“I think it was hard for all, but we moved out of our house that we had lived in for the kids’ whole lives and then moved in there, and sharing space, which we did slowly, we stayed, I think a year and a half separately, but married, but living a block away from each other,” she recounted. “So I think that was really a helpful transition.”

Kourtney has leaned into the chaos of having a big family, saying, “Everyone is in such different phases, but even on the days where it’s hard, there’s so much more love. It’s such a deeper, richer existence.”
