All the ‘Love on the Spectrum’ Couples Who Are Officially Engaged or Have Called It Quits
Love on the Spectrum couples Abbey and David plus Connor and Georgie announce breakups as fans react to the splits on the hit Netflix autism dating series.
There may not be a more wholesome show on television than Love on the Spectrum. The hit Netflix series follows young men and women with autism as they try to find love — and has amassed a devoted following of celebrity fans — including Bradley Cooper— over the course of its four seasons.
“Love on the Spectrum is the greatest show I’ve ever seen,” the 12-time Oscar nominee, 51, gushed during a 2024 appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. “You’re watching these people move forward with their heart and mind totally open, and they’re saying the very thing that we’re feeling and never have the courage to say.”
Sometimes, however, when looking for love, they find heartbreak instead. On Friday, April 10, fan favorites Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman announced that they have split in a joint statement shared via People. “Abbey and David spent four and a half years together and truly value the time they shared and each other,” it read. “At this point, they want different things and have decided to go their separate ways, but they remain friends wishing each other the best.”
What Went Wrong?
Abbey and David had their first date at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in 2021 and were the longest-standing couple on the show, which originated in Australia before branching out to the U.S. During season 4, Abbey explained that neither she nor David, 31, was ready to get married. “I don’t want to be a divorced lady like my mom, so that’s why I don’t want to rush it,” she said, according to the People report.
But after learning that castmates Madison Marilla and Tyler White had gotten engaged, the 27-year-old appeared to have a change of heart. “Hopefully, we’re next!” she declared. But David still needed time, according to a report from The U.S. Sun that reveals the pair called it quits following a disagreement over when to wed.
The news came as a shock to fans of the show, but as Abbey and David navigate their breakup, they won’t be facing it alone. “Participants are given plenty of support throughout their journey, but especially when they’re dealing with the trauma of a breakup,” a source tells Star. “It’s not like other reality shows where participants generally have to fend for themselves and face rejections as part and parcel of the process.” (In previous seasons, cast members met with a dating coach who also has autism.)
Goodbye, Georgie

They’re not the only ones dealing with a breakup. Connor Tomlinson is also coming out of a relationship. On the season 4 finale, the 26-year-old told his castmates that he’d parted ways with his girlfriend of a year, Georgie Harris, after they returned from a trip to the U.K. “This was the longest we spent with each other on a date,” he told People. “And well, I was just blown away by the fact I was in London… but I noticed Georgie didn’t seem as hyped by this as I was. And well, that made me concerned.” (In London, she also appeared distracted by a ladybug while he tried to discuss their relationship and her sometimes “mean” sense of humor.) In the end, said Connor, “we just weren’t cut out for each other.”
The couple’s breakup wasn’t on camera, which was a “conscious decision” Connor and his mom, Lise Smith, made, she revealed on her podcast Talk to Me Sis, E! reported. “We really, really want to be authentic and tell the true story… but I felt like this was a private moment that didn’t need to be consumed,” she explained, adding, “I don’t necessarily know that Georgie saw that coming. I don’t think she wanted to break up.”
Love After Heartbreak

Whether or not she was taken by surprise, Georgie has already moved on. On Sunday, April 12, the 23-year-old debuted her new boyfriend, Luke Cardon, on Instagram. “Luke and I have been waiting for a little time after the series came out to tell you guys about him,” she captioned a series of photos of the pair from Valentine’s Day and prom. “We have been dating for a while,” Georgie revealed, adding that she and Luke, who has Williams syndrome, were friends for three years prior and that he “matches” her energy.
Showing he has no hard feelings, Connor “liked” the post, as did his mom. That’s what makes the show so heartwarming, says the source. “LOTS is like a family. There’s a friendly, compassionate vibe where everyone tries to show empathy towards each other. The folks who sign up for it are, for the most part, just happy that they get to show themselves to the world.”
