Actor Jonah Hill was spotted sporting a much slimmer physique entering a West Hollywood gym on Friday, March 31. The War Dogs and The Wolf of Wall Street star’s insane yo-yo dieting has been well documented over the years. As recently as 2015 friends of the actor expressed concern over his ballooning bod, reporting to RadarOnline.com that his weight gain had reached the 300-pound mark. Shortly afterward he shed at least 40 pounds, allegedly spurred on by the advice he received from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and a personal trainer. The 33-year-old Hill is no stranger to extreme fluctuations in his weight, allegedly alternating between hitting it hard at the gym and eating with reckless abandon resulting in dramatic transformations to his 5’7” frame. His massive weight loss was widely reported after he looked super thin when presenting an award to Emma Stone at the SAG Awards this January. At least for now, it seems he’s remained on the downward trend. While Jonah is hardly the first celeb to pack on pounds only to shed them quickly for acting roles, he is doing it in such a way that it potentially could have alarmingly unhealthy effects on his health. A study in the International Journal of Obesity suggests that extreme weight loss and gain associated with yo-yo dieting potentially results in increased risk of diabetes and heart disease. Jonah has also been caught smoking cigarettes; another sign that he’s not taking care of his health. Hopefully he’ll trade the yo-yo routine for some realistic and maintainable lifestyle changes in the future.
