Three days in and Lamar Odom‘s health condition wasn’t showing much improvement as of early Friday morning—until reportedly around 10:30 A.M. PT today.
Turns out, the former NBA star who has been in a coma after being found unconscious at a Nevada brothel, “opened his eyes” and “made a sound like a whisper,” RadarOnline reported. His breathing tube was removed on Friday morning, not because he was improving, but because doctors were starting to sweat about Lamar developing an infection if they didn’t take it out.
While the breakthrough may seem relieving for ex-wife Khloe Kardashian, who hasn’t left his bedside since being checked into Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas on Oct. 13, there is still some gray area as to whether the ex-NBA player will survive—at least three critical organs are still failing, including his kidneys.
Opening his eyes unfortunately doesn’t mean much to the doctors at this point, since this is a common feat for 75% of brain dead patients—which Star exclusively revealed from a hospital insider that he was showing “no brain activity”—declaring him brain dead at this point. Meaning, if he does miraculously recover, there’s a good chance he’ll never live a normal life again.
