She’s currently doing press to promote her new movie The Giver, but iconic actress Meryl Streep took some time out of her Today Show interview to pay tribute to late actor Robin Williams, who was found dead in his home on Monday.
“It’s hard to imagine unstoppable energy stopped,” she told host Matt Lauer, somberly. “He was such a generous soul.”
Meryl went on to explain that she’d never worked with the comedian, but gushed about his friendship to Christopher and Dana Reeve. “He was always very loyal to them and their foundation,” she remembered.
Robin died of a suspected suicide, and his rep revealed that he’d been “battling severe depression of late.”
