Since she secretly gave birth in April, Kerry Washington has, not surprisingly, maintained a very low profile. But on Tuesday, the Scandal star sat down for her first post-baby interview — a Q&A session with the Los Angeles Times.
Throughout the nearly 40-minute interview, the notoriously private actress discussed her hit ABC show, but did touch on her newborn daughter, Isabelle, briefly.
When a fan asked, “Now that you’re a mom will it be bittersweet to go back to work?,” Kerry seemed caught off guard for a moment, but managed to come up with an answer.
“So tricky because you know I don’t really talk about this stuff!” she admitted. “The one thing I’ll say is that I feel really, really blessed. I just feel like I feel really blessed that I’m kind of living an extraordinary dream come true in my work life and in my personal life.”
This is just the second time the 37-year-old has acknowledged her daughter with husband Nnamdi Asomugha. In May, she made a brief mention on Twitter, telling fans, “Well…I still wont talk about my personal life on here. But…I see your tweets. And I am filled with gratitude! XO #HappyMothersDay.”
