Things are currently going well for Lindsay Lohan, but there’s still at least one person out there who is none too pleased with her. Paul Schrader, the actress’ director in The Canyons, posted a lengthy Facebook message on Wednesday to express his disappointment over Lindsay’s lack of participation in the movie’s promotion.
“I am mystified and disappointed by LL’s refusal to support The Canyons,” he wrote. “She is a producer of the film, a 25% owner. She has received wonderful reviews (among the negative) for her performance. I hired her when no one else would. She fought to keep the role when I wanted to fire her for unreliability.”
Despite Paul’s current negative feelings towards the 27-year-old, it was just over two months ago that he praised her for her work in the film, even comparing her to Marilyn Monroe. However, he now says he is puzzled as to why Lindsay isn’t taking more ownership of the movie.
“Don’t get me wrong,” he continued. “I want LL to move forward, have a healthy life and, if possible, a career, but I disagree with her decision to (passively not aggressively) turn her back on Canyons.” He does end the post by confirming that the actress’ work is “excellent,” but clearly, he has a bone or two to pick with her about her promotion skills.
