Jenny McCarthy is headed to The View for good! The former model has guest already guest co-hosted the show eight times, and will become an official member of the hosting table when Season 17 premieres this September.
The news of Jenny’s addition to the show comes shortly after it was revealed that Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be leaving the show, but it’s actually Joy Behar that Jenny will be replacing. Back in March, Joy announced her decision to exit the talk show when her contract ends this August. No word yet on if Elisabeth will get a replacement or who it might be.
Barbara Walters, who has been on the show since its premiere, also previously announced that she’ll be done with The View in 2014.
As for Jenny, she’ll still continue her Vh1 late-night show The Jenny McCarthy Show. “I’d like to thank ABC for this great opportunity,” she said in a statement. “It’d also like to give a big thank you to Vh1 for their support and for allowing me to fulfill this lifelong dream. I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off.”
