Kristen Bell Explains Quick, Low-Key Wedding

We already know that Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd had an extremely low-key wedding. They said “I do” on the spot at the county clerk’s office, and the whole thing was even more last minute than they originally let on.

The House of Lies actress talked to Jay Leno about the “big” day, admitting that they wanted the “lowest-key day possible.” At first, they were even almost turned away because they didn’t bring somebody along to officiate.

After frantically texting friends who were ordained to see who would come down, Kristen explained, “Finally somebody piped up who was actually in the courthouse and said, ‘I can marry you right now if you want.’”

“We said, ‘Boom! Let’s do it!’” she continued. “And we got it over with…then we got sandwiches and called it a day. We called that our wedding brunch.”
