No Behind the Music could do the best-selling female group in R&B history justice. That’s why VH1 is heading into uncharted territory with the new biopic: CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, a fascinating look at how three girls — Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins (Drew Sidora), Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes (Lil Mama) and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas (Keke Palmer) — climbed from humble beginnings in Atlanta to become the biggest act of the ’90s — before the music tragically ended when Lisa died in a car crash in 2002.
Hearing chart-topping hits like “Creep”, “Waterfalls”, “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg” and “What About Your Friends” may make viewers long for the good old days. Luckily they’ll be getting some good news. Not only did the two surviving members of the group, T-Boz and Chilli, serve as advisors on the film, but they have also reunited with old mentor L.A. Reid to drop a new album on Oct. 15. It will feature TLC’s most popular singles plus four new tracks, one penned by Ne-Yo, which will even play over CrazySexyCool‘s closing credits. Sounds like it’s time to party like its 1994!
