Those close to Glee star Cory Monteith have, for the most part, remained quiet since his sudden and shocking death on Saturday. While his family and girlfriend Lea Michele have request privacy, Cory’s Glee co-star Naya Rivera spoke out Monday about the loss of her friend.
“The entire Glee family and I are deeply saddened by this tragedy,” she said in a statement. “Cory was and always will be a part of my own family and a good friend. He was a special part of this world and will forever be missed. My heart goes out to Cory’s family and Lea, and while we are grateful for everyone’s well wishes, privacy during this time of grief is greatly appreciated.”
Two more of Cory’s co-stars and real-life pals, Matthew Morrison and Mark Salling have also expressed their grief regarding the situation. Matt dedicated a song to the 31-year-old during a concert on Sunday, while Mark shared his feelings on Twitter, writing, “going through a million memories and emotions today. ill love you always Brother Cory.”
Glee is set to begin filming again in two weeks, but there’s been no word yet on whether or not production will keep on that schedule with these recent events.
