Postpartum recovery often focuses on weight loss, but there is a growing conversation around the importance of rebuilding pelvic floor strength after childbirth.

According to Bel Di Lorenzo, founder of Gohddess and author of “The Gohddess Method,” millions of women silently struggle with postpartum incontinence, pain, and weakness because theyre never taught how to properly restore their pelvic floors.

“Most women dont realize that simple exercises, beyond Kegels, can help them prevent long-term pelvic issues,” said Di Lorenzo. “Learning how to properly engage these muscles post-birth can be life-changing.”

The experiences of new mothers are often fraught with not just the immediate challenges of caring for a newborn, but persistent physical issues, and Di Lorenzo highlights the significance of addressing pelvic health in postpartum recovery.

Di Lorenzo’s Ohlympus Program has trained more than 170,000 women in techniques designed to strengthen the pelvic floor, a core aspect of her “vaginal gymnastics” methodology.

She argues that exercises known as squeezing, milking, and pulsing are more effective for pelvic restoration than the traditional Kegel exercises. These methods are part of a broader initiative to destigmatize pelvic care and shine a light on postpartum symptoms that nobody talks about.

Di Lorenzo, an entrepreneur and women’s sexual health advocate, says her unique, science-based approach not only aids in postpartum recovery but also enhances female pleasure, narrowing the so-called “orgasm gap” between the sexes.
