Jenelle Evans is firing back at claims about her relationship with her mother, Barbara Evans, following reports that the former Teen Mom 2 fan favorite suffered a stroke.
On Monday, October 6, TMZ reported that Barbara, 72, had been hospitalized in North Carolina after suffering a stroke sometime a week prior, but had since been discharged to recover at home.
Jenelle, 33, took to her Instagram Story on Thursday, October 9, to share a photo of a picture frame featuring a shot of her and Barbara posing together in happier times on a table.
“Cute ❤️ despite what stories my sister is selling, I’ve been here at my moms the entire week. My sister [sic] been no where to be found,” she wrote alongside the Story, seemingly in response to speculation that she wasn’t present during her mother’s health scare. “We rather not her [sic] around at the moment due to her mental instability.”
“My moms health is better and will speak about it when the time is right,” Jenelle added.
According to TMZ , the mom of three — who now lives in Nevada — rushed back to North Carolina to be with Barbara after learning of the incident.
Meanwhile, a source told The Sun that Jenelle’s sister Ashley had also visited but later left the state, while Jenelle’s son Jace, 16, has been helping care for Barbara during her recovery.
Barbara and Jenelle have had a tumultuous relationship over the years — much of it documented on Teen Mom 2 — but it seems the pair are on better terms for now.
