Though it began as a single day of action, Take Back The Arts is now launching an ongoing campaign dedicated to protecting artistic expression and ensuring creativity remains uncensored.

Following the success of Take Back the Arts Day on March 8, organizers have launched the 365 x 4 Campaign set to run for the next four years.

The movement was founded in response to growing concerns over the politicization of the arts, including restrictions on content, book bans, and increased censorship in creative spaces. The takeover of the Kennedy Center was a flashpoint, demonstrating how easily cultural institutions can be influenced by political forces. Recognizing that the suppression of artistic voices has historically been a precursor to broader restrictions on free expression, Take Back the Arts aims to ensure that artists never lose their platform.

Lisa Goich, former Grammy executive and co-host of Mitch Alboms “Tuesday People” podcast, spearheaded the initiative, which quickly gained traction among artists nationwide. From musicians and filmmakers to poets and street performers, thousands participated, using #TakeBacktheArts to advocate for the importance of unrestricted creativity.

“One day was not enough!” Goich said in a statement. “Creativity isnt something we fight for once, its something we need to protect every single day. The 365 x 4 Campaign ensures that for the next four years, artists will have a platform to stand up, speak out, and take back their creative freedom.”

Over the next four years, Take Back the Arts will:

Encourage Daily Artistic Expression: Artists are invited to share their work using #TakeBacktheArts, turning every day into a celebration of creative freedom.

Amplify Independent Artists: The campaign will spotlight creators across digital platforms, ensuring their voices are heard.

Advocate for Artistic Rights: Take Back the Arts will challenge censorship through awareness campaigns, partnerships, and advocacy efforts.

Host Nationwide Events: From pop-up performances to online showcases, the movement will bring artists and audiences together in support of unrestricted creativity.

Acclaimed artists have already joined the movement as official ambassadors, including Grammy nominees Keyon Harrold and Tierney Sutton and four-time Grammy winner Gordon Goodwin.

As censorship and artistic suppression remain pressing concerns, Take Back the Arts is evolving into a sustained, long-term effort to defend creative expression, ensuring that artists remain “uncensored, unfiltered, and undeniably free.”
