Sydney Sweeney & Glen Powell: Yep, We Faked It

Were they or weren’t they? That was the question as Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell flirted their way through the press tour of the rom-com Anyone but You. The pair did nothing to squash reports of an on-set affair, despite the fact that Sydney, 27, is engaged to longtime boyfriend Jonathan Davino.

Finally, in April, Glen came clean, admitting that the two had “leaned into” the romance rumors to entice viewers to the steamy flick about a love-hate pair at a tropical destination wedding. The 36-year-old also seemed to indicate that his costar was behind the plan, saying, “Sydney is very smart.”

Now, in a new interview, Sydney has confessed that she and her costar felt trapped by their own deception. “Once [the movie] did become a success, a lot of the interviews were just questions about [the relationship],” she told Vanity Fair, adding that they couldn’t avoid them. Not that she regrets it too much, an insider tells Star. “She’s not just on her way to becoming a Hollywood mover and shaker — she’s already arrived.”
