Simone Biles Shares Plans for Future Children With Husband Jonathan Owens
Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, are excited about parenthood — whether or not their future kids follow in their athletic footsteps.
On Saturday, May 3, the 28-year-old gymnast, often called the “GOAT,” spoke to E! at the 151st Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Kentucky, about “building a family” with the 29-year-old Chicago Bears player.
The seven-time Olympic medalist revealed that she and her hubby have wanted to be parents for a long time.
“I’ve always wanted to be a mother and have kids, and just like him [Owens], he’s always wanted to be a dad, so it’s just really exciting,” she gushed in the interview.
Biles joked that her kids would hopefully be “powerful and athletic” before clarifying, “If they turn into musicians, who cares? That is still phenomenal as well.” Owens added, “As long as you put all of your efforts into whatever you choose to do.”
Biles noted that she and the NFL star would have their children try sports but would support whatever their interests are.
“We are obviously gonna put them in sports in the beginning so they get their bearings and learn,” she remarked. “But other than that, we don’t really care what they do as long as they find their passion.”
The gold medalist delivered the iconic “Riders Up” call at the annual event at Churchill Downs. The power couple — who tied the knot in April 2023 — coordinated their looks for the day, with Biles opting for a strapless purple dress with crystals and a matching hat while Owens donned a printed purple suit and hat.
In August 2024, the three-time Olympian spoke to TODAY about her desire to start a family.
“Me and Jonathan always talk about kids. He would have had them like yesterday if he could have,” she said. “Obviously,we both have goals that we want to achieve before we start a family, but yes, that’s definitely in our future.”
Meanwhile, the husband-and-wife duo have been designing their dream home together in Spring, Texas. Biles has shared updates on the lakeside mansion — which includes a swimming pool, a large marble shower, and a three-car garage — via Instagram.
