Sherri Shepherd’s Talk Show Canceled Hours After Kelly Clarkson Announces Hers Is Ending

Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show, Sherri, has officially been canceled and will end after the current season.

The host, 58, has yet to comment on the cancellation, but Lionsgate-owned syndicated TV production company, Debmar-Mercury, confirmed the news on Monday, February 2, in a statement provided to Us Weekly.

“This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production – which has found strong creative momentum this season – or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd,” Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus told the outlet. “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.”

The show will continue to air season 4, which will be its last, throughout the 2025-2026 TV season before ending its run. Sherri currently airs on station groups like Fox TV Stations, Nexstar, Hearst, Sinclair, Gray, Tegna and Sunbeam.

The news comes just hours after a similar daytime talk show shakeup. Kelly Clarkson revealed that her longtime talk show will be ending after the current season 7 concludes. The singer and TV host — whose ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, died last year — confirmed the news in a statement on X.

“There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner,” Clarkson, 43, wrote in part.

The decision came just a week after Clarkson’s rep denied reports that the show was being canceled. Similarly, Shepherd’s show was heralded by Fox TV Stations executive vice president of programming, Frank Cicha, as “a linchpin of our daytime lineup,” less than a year ago, per Us Weekly.
