Selena Gomez’s Fiance Benny Blanco Reveals Why They Haven’t Started Planning Their Wedding Yet

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez have been booked and busy, according to the chart-topping record producer and songwriter, who revealed that it has slowed down their wedding plans.

During a recent appearance on the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast, Blanco chatted about their hectic schedules and said he and his future bride, 32, are trying to pace themselves before sorting out the details for their upcoming nuptials.

“We’re both working on so many things that we haven’t even had time to get into it but we’re so excited,” Blanco, 37, shared on the Wednesday, July 10, episode. “I think this summer, we’re going to sit down and be like, ‘Ok, what are we doing hun?’”

Blanco explained that he and Gomez have been working consistently since getting engaged in December 2024 — even joining forces for their collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, which was released in March.

The couple started dating in mid-2023, opting to keep their romance under wraps before going public later that year.

Blanco popped the question with a marquise diamond engagement ring that is estimated to be six carats, according to People, which cited an estimated price tag of $225,000.

“We got engaged and then we were filming music videos for our album, then it’s holidays, then right after the holidays we had to start all the promo for our stuff,” Blanco told host Jake Shane. “Then she left to film her show, Only Murders [in the Building].”

“Then I met her, we hung out for a week, and right after that, it’s promo… Then I had to write a book, and she came back for one day here,” he continued.

Blanco previously authored Open Wide: A Cookbook for Friends, which was published in 2024.

The groom-to-be noted during his interview that he also recently celebrated another trip around the sun on March 8. Gomez, at the time, took to Instagram with a special message in honor of the special occasion.

“I’m not sure what I did to deserve you but damn am I glad you were born … happy birthday baby,” she gushed alongside a series of photos.

As for how he and the Calm Down singer are looking forward to unwinding, Blanco gushed, “I just want to lie in bed and forget what day it is.”

He added, “She makes me want to hang out and cuddle, just watch things, just eat food and have piles of food around us and have the best time ever.”
